The UK remains one of the most sought-after destinations for Pakistani students, and for good reason: one-year Master’s degrees, globally ranked universities, and the Graduate Route that lets you stay and work for up to two years after graduation.
Step 1 — Secure your CAS
Once you accept an unconditional offer and pay your deposit, your university issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). This is the single most important document in your visa application.
Step 2 — Meet the financial requirement
You must show tuition for your first year plus living costs (£1,023/month for up to 9 months outside London, £1,334/month in London). Crucially, these funds must be held in an eligible account for 28 consecutive days.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Breaking the 28-day rule by moving money too early
- Using an account not in your or your parents’ name without a sponsor letter
- Submitting bank statements older than 31 days at the time of application
